The Emirate of Ras Al-Khaimah is a principality in the northern part of the UAE. Virtually the entire territory of the Emirate constitutes beach coastline flowing into the waters of the Gulf. Ras Al-Khaimah as an administrative unit has a border with such Emirates as Fujairah, Sharjah and Dubai. In the south and in the north-eastern part the Emirate shares a border with the Sultanate of Oman.
The capital of the Emirate and the administrative center is the city of Ras Al-Khaimah. The population of the Emirate is about 300 000 people and the total area of the occupied territory is more than 1.5 thousand square kilometers.
Fertile soil, mild climate and availability of unlimited water resources have contributed to transformation of the Emirate into a blooming oasis, which extends from the coast to the mountain ranges. Grapefruits, lemons and figs constitute only a small part of cultivated crops in the Emirate.
