The main examples of types of business in the UAE can be divided into three groups:
- Business performed without extra approvals and permissions.
- Business that requires additional authorization.
- Business prohibited by law.
Most businesses fall under the first category - trade, consulting, logistics, manufacturing, etc.
The second group includes operations related to financial activities of any type (management of funds of third parties, insurance and reinsurance, etc.), tourism, healthcare services, operation of hazardous and toxic substances, etc.
The third group includes business that violates the laws of the country and Muslim principles – any type of gambling, prostitution and etc.
