  1. The RAK free trade zone offshore companies are registered in the RAK ICC (RAK International Corporate Center). The customers communication with such registrar can be done over the Registrar registered agents only.
  2. The RAK offshore international business companies can be incorporated in the UAE to conduct the legal business only. Within the RAK offshore incorporation the following data shall be provided:
    • The name of the IBC Company, which may end with, the word "Limited" or "Incorporated" or the abbreviation "Ltd." or "Inc.";
    • The address of the Free Trade Zone International offshore Company's registered office;
    • The nature of the RAK ICC business to be conducted. It shall be sufficient to state that the purpose of the RAK International offshore Company is to engage in any lawful act or activity for which they may be organized under these Regulations;
    • The amount of share capital, which the Ras Al Khaimah ICC Company proposes to be registered, and its division into shares of a fixed amount;
    • The full names and address of each of the incorporators and (if they are different) the persons who are to serve as directors.

Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade zone provides the possibility to obtain commercial as well as professional licenses.

RAK FTZ Industrial License

Allowed company activities:

  • Import of raw materials required for production;
  • Production / manufacturing or processing (food processing, etc.),
  • Assembling / fine-tuning, labelling, packaging, and exporting finished goods and product.

The office or other premises of the RAK Free Trade Zone company can be located only inside the Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone.

On approval of the client's projects, the required facilities are allocated and the respective lease agreement is signed with the Free Zone. All rents are payable according to the terms and conditions of the lease agreement.

The visas can be received only over RAK Free Zone onshore companies. UAE RAK ICC Offshore companies are not eligible to apply for residency any types of residency visas.

RAK Free Trade Zones Authorities provide the visa sponsorship duly licensed companies registered in such Free Trade Zones.

The maximum number and types of visas which can be issued depends on the type of the license, scope and scale of operations, size and type of facilities.

The key Labor Law applicable in the RAK Free Trade Zone is the UAE Labor Law N8 and the further amendments to it. This law regulates most of the characteristics of employer and employee relations, such as working hours, leave terms, labor contract termination rights, medical benefits, repatriation, etc. This law is applicable in all Emirates of the UAE including RAK whereby some Free Zones have some additional regulations on the labor law which can not contradict the UAE labor law. In the case of any disputes between employer and employee the UAE Ministry of Labor will act in an effort to resolve matters amicably. If a party wishes to appeal any such decision such case can be taken to the court.

The UAE Free Trade Zone onshore companies can receive the certificate of tax residency in order to use the advantages of the double tax treaties signed in between UAE and other countries.

Such certificates can be issued with the clear indication in respect to the Double Tax Treaty agreement with which country it refers to. To receive such tax residency certificate the company shall provide its trade license, business premises lease agreement, passport copy of the company director with the residency visa in UAE, bank statement for at least last 6 month, audited financial report, the application / request letter to receive such tax residency certificate and the payment of the respective governmental fees.
