Biography

Sheikh Saud is the fourth son of Saqr bin Mohammed Al-Qasimi. As a child, he was educated at home, in Ras al-Khaimah. At the age of 17, Sheikh Saud was enrolled in the Department of Economics of the American University of Beirut. Later he obtained the Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of Michigan (USA). In 1979 Sheikh Saud was appointed Chief of the Ruler’s Court, and in 2003 he was declared Crown Prince of the emirate Ras al-Khaimah.

The Al Marjan Island is an ambitious mega-project, which is located at the coast of the northern Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
